AMREF Flying Doctors
AMREF (African Medical & Research Foundation), the biggest African health-care organization, started in 1957 in Kenya as 'Flying Doctors'. The organization's mission is to structurally improve the health of vulnerable population groups in Africa so they can escape from poverty. In the Netherlands, AMREF Flying Doctors focuses on raising funds and allocating them to projects carried out by AMREF in Africa. The organization is also committed to raising awareness and gaining support for better health care in Africa. We receive aid from the Dutch government, the National Postcode Lottery and 27,500 donors, including private individuals, companies and other organizations. The organization is CBF certified.
