Collaboration with Wilde Ganzen successfully completed

At the end of 2009, Malaria No More! Netherlands started working with Wilde Ganzen in the form of a so-called AddedValue Campaign. One and a half years later, the collaboration has ended to the satisfaction of both organizations.

Following a number of successful sponsor campaigns carried out by private individuals and schools, Malaria No More decided in 2009 to look for a partner who could add value to these fund-raising activities. The partner was Wilde Ganzen, who, as part of a so-called ValueAdded Campaign, augmented the funds raised by Malaria No More on the condition that the sponsor activities included educational information about the supported project and that the fund-raising activities were carried out under the banner of Wilden Ganzen. We agreed with Wilde Ganzen that money would be raised for the 'Fight against malaria in Shibinga' project in West Kenya.

Last year, hundreds of schoolchildren, teachers, parents, service club members, athletes and artists dedicated their time, entirely free of charge, to dozens of creative, musical and athletic sponsor activities to raise money for this project in Kenya. They also ensured that Malaria No More, Wilde Ganzen, the fund-raising activity and the project received attention from the media and therefore the general public. Money and awareness for malaria were raised at the same time.

At the end of February 2011, the intended amount had been raised, bringing the collaboration with Wilde Ganzen to an end. Wilde Ganzen has transferred the sum of € 42,000 to the project in Kenya, enabling the Pioneer Self Help Group Bulechia to carry out almost all of the activities planned for the third project year.

Malaria No More is now working on the second request for collaboration with Wilde Ganzen, who have informed us that that they will augment the money raised in 2011 by a fixed premium of 55%.
