Race Against the Clock Campaign is already a great success

The ‘Race Against the Clock, the Malaria No More Challenge’ campaign, which was developed by Nicole Post Design & Productions BNO, started on 21 May 2010 with 100 visiting pupils from Voorwegschool in Heemstede. Three cool tents with films and online games were placed along the access road to Circuit Park Zandvoort. The kids were given a backpack, a t-shirt, a cap, and a keycord and were then divided into two groups.

One group went to the circuit for a tour of the grounds. The kids walked on the pit street and over the pit terrain. They watched the drivers train (the youngest drivers were two boys aged 15!), put questions to the Coronel racing team, got autographs from the Suzuki drivers and admired the cool fast race cars. Not something you do every day! Foto-RTdK-rappen-150pix.JPG

The other groups stayed in the three tents where millennium goal rapper McLazy explained to some 12 – 13 kids how to write a rap about malaria. After watching a film and listening to McLazy, they knew all about preventing malaria and what they can do in the Netherlands to fight the disease. The subgroups enthusiastically worked on their texts and practiced rapping. At the end of the workshop, each of the groups performed their rap wearing their Race Against the Clock caps. The other kids had fun drawing mosquitoes and playing online race games. The groups rotated through the activities so they could all have a guided tour of the circuit, write a rap, draw mosquitoes they'll pimp at school and drive real fast on screen.

The weather was good too, and so the kids biked home in the afternoon with loads of experiences and stories to talk about.

Also interesting for companies

On a sunny Whit Monday (24 May), the doors of Circuit Park Zandvoort opened at 9 a.m. for the Profile Tyrecenter Pentecost race in which all of the race classes in the Dutch Power Pack came into action. The three exposition tents of the ‘Race Against the Clock, the Malaria No More ChFoto-RTdK-cheque-150pix.jpgallenge’ were open during the race. Visitors were given information about malaria, Malaria No More! Netherlands and the campaign. The kids had a great time playing race games and could buy backpacks, t-shirts and caps for a good cause. At 11:30 a.m., the campaign was formerly opened by Maarten Jansen of Nicole Post Design & Productions BNO. Maarten talked about the first discussions he and his partner Nicole Post had a year ago with Arjan Erkel and Margret van Gaalen of Malaria No More! Netherlands. The campaign wouldn't have been possible without the help of NCDO and the dedication of Malaria No More! Netherlands. Then Jacques Sassen, Product Manager Hama/SanDisk/Xavax at Hama, handed over a cheque to Arjan Erkel. Hama was the first company to sponsor this campaign and get excellent exposure in the exposition tents. This sunny WhiFoto-RTdK-autos-150pix.jpgt Monday attracted 23,000 visitors, who all passed the exposition tents.
