Who will you be supporting: Diederik or Aleid?
Sunday 10 July is the day. The day on which the first Hero Race will be held in the Netherlands. The participants will run or walk 6 kilometres in the Amsterdamse Bos. Two heroes will be taking part for Malaria No More! Netherlands: Diederik Slot and Aleid Hillebrand.
Diederik Slot is the director of Malaria No More! Netherlands. He will be celebrating his 50th birthday a week after the Hero Race. Instead of presents, he has asked his friends and family to support him with a donation for the Hero Race. But even if you don't know Diederik, you can still support him with a donation to help fight malaria.
Diederik still needs a few donations to help him reach his fund-raising goal of € 1,000.
Aleid Hillebrand is a volunteer at Malaria No More! Netherlands. She is the secretary of the 
allocation committee and helps the members evaluate new project proposals and monitor the progress reports of the projects we support. Her participation in the Hero Race is truly heroic and special when you consider that Aleid needs a mobility scooter to get around in daily life. She will cover 2 instead of 6 kilometres, which is the equivalent of a marathon for her.
Aleid also needs donations to reach her fund-raising goal of € 1,500.
Who will you support? It doesn't really matter which of the two you support because whoever you choose, you will be supporting the fight against malaria and will be a Hero for Malaria No More! Wilde Ganzen will augment the funds raised with a premium of 55%. The proceeds will go to the malaria project in Zimbabwe.
