• Malaria costs Africa €12 billion a year in health care and lost productivity.

This can be stopped by:
• Giving mosquito nets to every African family.
• Handing out effective diagnostic tests and drugs.
• Effectively tackling the mosquito population.
• Educating people about malaria and helping them change their behaviour.
• Malaria is caused by a parasite that is transferred from person to person by mosquitoes. Using mosquito nets reduces the amount of infected blood that is spread.
